Who Is This Resource For?
Wisdom is a Lady is the newest small group resource from Word Aflame Press. Although this resource has lady in the title it is actually written and produced with all believers in mind. Whether you are male or female, young or old, or new to your relationship with the Lord or have been serving Him for many years, this amazing resource is for you.
What to know what means to build a life of godly wisdom? Are you interested in knowing what godly wisdom even looks like? Then discover the enriching gold nuggets of wisdom that await you in Wisdom is a Lady.
What Will This Book Help You Do?
“Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars…” (Proverbs 9:1).
Looking to know what the Bible has to say about wisdom? Interested in knowing what is more important, wisdom or intellect? Many writers have tried their best to write books on the “seven pillars” of Wisdom as mentioned in Proverbs but…guess what… at the end of verse one of chapter 9 there is a colon indicating that there is a list to follow, but believe it or not, those seven pillars are never mentioned. So, what are these seven pillars that the writer of Proverbs is referring to?
That scripture sent Lori on a comprehensive quest to uncover the identity and significance of the seven pillars Wisdom diligently fashioned in her building program. Oh, yes…Wisdom in the construction business!
This resource will take you on a journey that begins before the foundation of the world and ends in the book of Revelation. Through this resource, Lori desires to help ladies (as well as gentlemen) build a life of purpose, and believes that that is possible when we are able to know the voice of Wisdom in our lives.
First and foremost, in scripture, Wisdom is personified as a lady. Why is that?
Some of the lessons that you will learn in this study group resource are:
What you will find within these pages are true biblical principles and practical guidance to help you in developing godly wisdom and discovering your divine purpose in life.
The Best Part
To me, the best part of this resource is the journaling portion. It is in the journaling where we actually get to learn the voice of Wisdom in our life and how to develop it so that we are able to move towards and grow into our divine purpose in life.
Don’t just read and watch, write, pray, and apply. God wants to develop Wisdom in you so that you are able to build up others within the Kingdom. Wisdom is in the construction business and what we are building is the Kingdom of God, and to participate in the world of building the Kingdom we must go by God’s blueprints which are found in Wisdom.
What Would Make It Even Better?
Now, as for negatives…
To be honest with you, I am not sure there is anything I could say that would make this resource better. I think Lori really out did herself with this study. It is defiantly evident that Lori spent a lot time in prayer (mediating on the Word of God) and dedicated study.
The scripture said in II Timothy 2:15, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. We study to know God and to know how to live in ways that will be pleasing to Him and keep us from shame. It is clear that Lori has honored and obeyed II Timothy 2:15 while taking the time to produce this resource.
How It Changed My Life
I’ll be honest with you, I have known that the Bible personified Wisdom as a lady but I never gave it much thought. And you know what else is interesting…
All of my life I have prayed that God would give me Wisdom. I have prayed for the Wisdom of Solomon and have continued to pray that prayer all throughout my life. However, just recently as I have prayed that prayer, I kept seeing Wisdom is a Lady show up just about everywhere I looked. God does work in mysterious ways…and if you ask God for something don’t be surprised when He shows up and delivers because that is exactly what He did with me. I kept asking God for Wisdom and He kept showing me Wisdom is a Lady. I finally realized what God was trying to do and I went through this resource, and I think you should too.
Wisdom is a Lady is a well-studied and thought-out, skillfully written resource that will enrich the lives of believers and encourage growth and discipleship. If you haven’t got yours I highly recommend you do so now. Plus, Mother’s Day is not too far away and this would make for a great gift (hint hint).
